Ragam: Sriragam

श्रवणहरण दक्षिण क्वाणया वीणया किन्नरैर्गीयसे । यक्ष गन्धर्व सिद्धाङ्गना मण्डलैरर्च्यसे ।

காதுகளைக் குளிரச் செய்கின்ற இசையை எழுப்புகின்ற வீணைகளை இசைத்து கின்னரர்களால் நீ புகழப்படுகிறாய்! யட்ச, கந்தர்வ, சித்த மங்கையரால் அர்ச்சிக்கப்படுகிறாய்! क्वाण = இசை;

Your glories are sung by Kinnaras by playing the melodious Veena which captivates the ears. You are worshipped by groups of yakshas, gandharvas and shiddhas.

सर्वसौभाग्य वाञ्छावतीभिर्वधूभिः सुराणां समाराध्यसे ।

எல்லா நலன்களையும் அடைய விரும்புகின்ற தேவருலகப் பெண்களால் நன்றாக ஆராதிக்கப்படுகிறாய்.

You are propitiated by the wives of devas who desire for themselves all the good things in life.

सर्वविद्या विशेषात्मकं चाटुगाथा समुच्चारणं कण्ठमूलोल्लसद् वर्ण राजित्रयं कोमल श्यामलोदार पक्षद्वयं तुण्डशोभातिदूरीभवत्किंशुकं तं शुकं लालयन्ती परिक्रीडसे । सर्वविद्या विशेषात्मकं : Embodiment of all branches of knowledge चाटु (chātu) : means clever, artful compliment; Not crude flattery, but refined, cultured praise. गाथा (gāthā) : Poetic composition. कण्ठमूलोल्लसद् वर्ण राजित्रयं : Three radiant colours shining at the throat: refers to the three tones / qualities of speech: clarity, rhythm, meaning (also hints at mantra–chandas–artha)

அனைத்து அறிவு வடிவமாக, சிறந்த கதைகளை நன்றாகச் சொல்லக்கூடிய, கழுத்தின் அடிப்பகுதியில் மூன்று வண்ணக் கோடுகளை உடைய, இளம் பச்சை நிறத்தில் கம்பீரமான இரண்டு இறக்கைகளையுடைய, புரச மலரின் அழகைப் பழிக்கின்ற அழகான அலகையுடைய கிளியைக் கொஞ்சிக் களிக்கிறாய்!

கிம்ஷுகம் என்றால் 'அது கிளியா' என்று அர்த்தம். பலாச மரத்தின் சிவந்த பூக்கள் கிளியின் சிவந்த அலகுகள் போல் இருப்பதால் அது கிம்ஷுகம் எனப்படுகிறது.

You play with the parrot which is the personification of all knowledge, which keeps telling interesting stories, which has on its neck three lines of different colours, which has two pretty dark green wings and whose beak surpasses the kimshuka flower in its red colour.  A parrot is the symbol for vak-shakti - it listens, learns and repeats with clarity

Shyamala/ Matangi governs spoken wisdom, not silent knowledge.

पाणिपद्म द्वयेनाक्ष मालाम् अपि स्फाटिकीं (पाणिपद्मद्वयेन अक्षमालाम् अपि, स्फाटिकीं), ज्ञानसारात्मकं पुस्तकं, चाङ्कुशं पाशमाबिभ्रती (च अङ्कुशं पाशम् आबिभ्रती) येन सञ्चिन्त्यसे चेतसा, तस्य वक्त्रान्तरात् गद्यपद्यात्मिका भारती निस्सरेत् ।

 गद्य पद्य आत्मिका - proficiency of prose and poetry , भारती- knowledge , निस्सरेत् - should outflow fluently .

தாமரை போன்ற இரண்டு கைகளில் ( ஸ்படிக மணிகளாலான ஜப மாலையும், அறிவின் சாரமான புத்தகத்தையும், மற்ற இரண்டு கைகளில் அங்குசம், பாசம் ஆகிய ஆயுதங்களையும் தரித்தவளே! இந்த உருவத்தில் உன்னை மனத்தால் தியானிப்பவனின் வாயிலிருந்து உரைநடையும் கவிதையும் சிறந்து விளங்குகின்ற வாக்குகள் வெளிப்படும். If a devotee meditates on you as holding in your hands the crystal akshamala, the book of supreme knowledge, the goad and the rope, from his mouth will emerge all knowledge in the form of poetry and prose.

येन वा यावका भाकृतिर्भाव्यसे (यावका भा आकृतिः भाव्यसे), तस्य वश्या भवन्ति स्त्रियः पूरुषाः । येन वा शातकुम्भद्युतिर्भाव्यसे (शातकुम्भ-द्युतिः भाव्यसे) सोऽपि लक्ष्मीसहस्रैः परिक्रीडते ।

செவ்வொளி வீசும் திருமேனி உடையவளாக உன்னைத் தியானிப்பவனுக்குப் பெண்களும் ஆண்களும் வசப்படுவார்கள். பொன்னிறம் உடையவளாக உன்னைத் தியானிப்பவன் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான செல்வங்கள் பெற்று ஆனந்த வாழ்வு வாழ்வான். यावका = காலில் பூசப்படும் சிவப்பு வர்ணம்; भा = பிரகாசம்;

If he meditates on you as having a red complexion, all men and women will be under his spell. If he meditates on you as having golden complexion, he will sport with thousands of Lakshmis (i.e. he will have immeasurable wealth). 

किं न सिद्ध्येद्वपुः श्यामलं कोमलं चन्द्रचूडान्वितं तावकं ध्यायतः । तस्य लीलासरो वारिधिः, तस्य केलीवनं नन्दनं, तस्य भद्रासनं भूतलं, तस्य गीर्देवता किङ्करी, तस्य चाज्ञाकरी श्रीः स्वयम् ।

கரிய நிறத்தினளாக, மென்மை நிறைந்தவளாக, நிலவைத் தரித்தவளாக உனது திருமேனியைத் தியானிப்பவனுக்கு எதுதான் கைகூடாது! கடல் அவன் களிக்கின்ற குளமாகும்; விண்ணுலக நந்தவனம் அவன் விளையாடுகின்ற தோட்டமாகும்; பூமியே அவனது அரியணையாகிவிடும்; கலைமகளே அவனுக்கு அருள் செய்யக் காத்து நிற்பாள்; மகாலட்சுமி தானாகவே அவனது பணிப் பெண் ஆவாள்.

What is not accessible or achievable to the devotee who meditates on your beautiful dark blue form sporting the crescent moon on the head? For him the ocean is the pool for water sports, the Nandana vana is the forest where he can play, his seat is the entire earth, the Goddess of speech is his handmaid and Goddess Lakshmi waits for his orders. वपुः = beautiful, चन्द्रचूडान्वितं = having crescent in the head, भद्रासनं = throne

सर्वतीर्थात्मिके, सर्वमन्त्रात्मिके, सर्वतन्त्रात्मिके, सर्वयन्त्रात्मिके, सर्वपीठात्मिके, सर्वतत्त्वात्मिके, सर्वशक्त्यात्मिके, सर्वविद्यात्मिके, सर्वयोगात्मिके, सर्वनादात्मिके, सर्वशब्दात्मिके, सर्व वर्णात्मिके सर्वविश्वात्मिके, सर्वदीक्षात्मिके, सर्वसर्वात्मिके, सर्वगे, पाहि मां पाहि मां पाहि मां, देवि तुभ्यं नमो, देवि तुभ्यं नमो, देवि तुभ्यं नमः ॥

அனைத்து தீர்த்த வடிவினளே, அனைத்து மந்திர வடிவினளே, அனைத்து தந்திர வடிவினளே, அனைத்து யந்திர வடிவினளே, அனைத்து பீட வடிவினளே, அனைத்து தத்துவ வடிவினளே, அனைத்து ஆற்றல் வடிவினளே, அனைத்து அறிவு வடிவினளே, அனைத்து யோக வடிவினளே, அனைத்து ஒலி வடிவினளே, அனைத்து சொல் வடிவினளே, அனைத்து எழுத்து வடிவினளே, அனைத்து உலக வடிவினளே, எங்கும் நிறைந்தவளே, உலகின் தாயே, என்னைக் காப்பாய், என்னைக் காப்பாய், என்னைக் காப்பாய். தேவீ, உன்னை வணங்கிறேன். தேவீ, உன்னை வணங்குகிறேன். தேவீ, உன்னை வணங்குகிறேன்.

O Devi!, the soul or essence of all holy waters, all tantras, all mantras, all chakras (symbols), all psychic powers, all seats of power, all philosophy, all knowledge, all yogas, all musical sounds, all vedas, all speech, all worlds, all divisions and all austerities, who is everywhere, who is all forms, who is the Mother of all the worlds please save me, save me, I prostrate before you, I prostrate before you, I prostrate before you. 

சியாமளா தண்டகத்தை பல பேர்கள் சிறப்பாக பாடி இருக்கிறார்கள். அதில் என்னை கவர்ந்த ஒன்றை உங்களுடன் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதில் மிக்க மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன். இதை பந்துல ரமா கீழ்கண்ட ராகங்களில் பாடி இருக்கிறார்கள்: ரேவதி, ரஞ்சனி, சஹானா, குந்தலவராளி, சாமா, சாரங்கா, துர்கா, லலிதா, ஸ்ரீ
